How it works

Four steps. No spreadsheet skills.

If you could describe the fix to a friend, you can do it here.

1

Drop your file

Excel or CSV, one sheet or many. It's read right in your browser — nothing is uploaded to a server. No account, no waiting.

2

See what's wrong

TidyCell scans locally and lists the problems it found — mixed dates, number-as-text columns, duplicates — ranked by how much they matter. Pick a suggestion, or search for anything.

3

Fix one thing at a time

Each tool shows the change before/after. Approve it and it becomes a step. Stack as many as you like — undo any of them. The workbook builds up exactly the way you want.

4

Download your real file

Get the same workbook back — formulas, formatting, charts and every sheet intact. Or export to CSV, JSON, Markdown and more.

Why it's private by default

Your data stays in your browser

Parsing, cleaning and the final download all happen on your machine. We can't see your rows because they never reach us.

The one exception is Find a Problem and Ask TidyCell — the AI tools. Even then, only a tiny, bounded sample leaves your browser, and only after we show you exactly what and you press go.

Even the chat can't see your rows.

When you chat with your data in Ask TidyCell, the AI doesn't read your file. It works from bounded summaries — “count the distinct values in Status”, “total Amount by month” — computed from your actual data by code, and reasons over those answers rather than recalling rows. It explains your sheet; it can't quietly change it.
